The overarching goals of Friends of MSF York is as follows:
(1) To raise awareness for MSF.
Friends of MSF York strives to raise awareness for MSF, the work of MSF in the field, the populations that MSF serves, and the humanitarian issues MSF supports.
(2) To fundraise for MSF.
Friends of MSF York raises money to support MSF, its projects and campaigns.
(3) To encourage others to consider work with MSF.
Although students cannot work with MSF field missions, Friends of MSF York strives to make students aware of future opportunities with MSF in the hopes that they will consider working with MSF later in their professional careers. Friends of MSF York provides information on MSF, the nature of fieldwork, and emphasize that professionals from a wide range of medical and non-medical professions are needed.
Friends of MSF York do not represent the MSF organisation. We are an association of friends and supporters of MSF that study or work in a Canadian university raising awareness on the organisation.
This group has been approved by MSF Canada and the Friends of MSF Canada.
